Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron – A Spectacular Electric Driving Experience

Cart

I recently had the pleasure of spending time in the Audi Q4 Sportback 50 e-tron Quattro, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Ever since its announcement, I had been eagerly anticipating Audi’s premium luxury take on electrification, and the Q4 did not disappoint. Its stunning design and spacious interior place it at the top of my vehicle wish list.

The Audi Q4 comfortably accommodates five passengers and offers ample cargo space, making it a great choice for families. During my week with the vehicle, my family joined me on various trips, and we all found the Q4 to be incredibly comfortable. My son, in particular, thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I even had the opportunity to charge the Q4 at the Washington Auto Show while covering the press days, ensuring it was fully charged for my adventures in the Washington DC area.

In terms of range, the Q4 is EPA-rated for 241 miles. However, during my charging sessions, I found that it reached a maximum of 237 miles at 100% charge. It’s worth noting that highway speeds, especially around 70 mph, can significantly reduce the range. To optimize the range, I discovered that maintaining speeds around 60-65 mph was ideal while still allowing for sufficient charging capability.

The handling of the Q4 is exceptional, and the fit and finish of the vehicle are truly impressive. Its connected technology seamlessly integrates with my iPhone via Apple CarPlay, and it also supports Android Auto. The Sonos sound system provided excellent audio quality, allowing me to enjoy the new album we released as part of our engineering-focused game for kids.

Through the game, called Dah-Varsity, students can explore an interview I conducted with an Audi e-tron designer, visit a simulated factory, view pictures from my trip to Ingolstadt (where Audi’s factory is located), learn about advanced manufacturing, and interact with a 3D model of the e-Tron concept.

The Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron exceeded my expectations and captured my heart. Equipped with an 82 kWh battery and dual motors, it offers a thrilling electric driving experience. I would be interested in exploring the range of the rear-wheel drive model as well, as the ID4 I previously drove was a single-motor variant that provided nearly 300 miles of range. It’s worth noting that the Q4’s handling remained impressive even during winter storms.

In conclusion, the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron delivers a truly spectacular electric driving experience. Its striking design, spacious interior, impressive handling, and advanced technology make it a standout choice in the realm of electrified vehicles. If you’re in the market for a premium electric vehicle, the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron should be at the top of your list.

The base price of the Audi Q4 Sportback 50 e-tron Quattro starts at $52,700. However, the model I drove had several options, including the blue metallic paint and the prestigious package, bringing the total price to $60,690. For more information, visit Audi’s official website at audi.com.
