Chrysler Pacifica Select PHEV: Electrified Minivan Excellence

Cart

I had a spectacular time driving the Chrysler Pacifica Select PHEV Premium S Appearance. Despite Chrysler undergoing a reorganization, the Pacifica remains a venerable vehicle that has kept the brand thriving. Chrysler does minivans better than anyone else, and my driving experience confirmed that.

Driving around the Washington DC metropolitan area and as far west as I-70 on I-270, through the Appalachian Hills in Hagerstown, and on I-81 to Pittsburgh and I-76, was a delight. The PHEV provides an extra 32 miles of electric-only range, according to the EPA. I found charging to be straightforward, with numerous Level 2 charging stations available, and it took roughly 2 hours to fully charge.

My mom enjoyed riding along with me, especially since she has six grandkids. She was impressed by the comfort and entertainment options, particularly the TV, and remarked that my sister should consider this vehicle over her current one. I concur. The panoramic roof and sound system, which allowed me to play music I created with the music department, were standout features. The driving and handling were excellent, and I loved the technology integration, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The styling is classic and exactly what you think of when you envision a minivan, but the electrified aspect added a whole new experience.

The Pacifica gets an EPA-rated 30 miles per gallon using the gasoline engine and a combined 82 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe). It boasts numerous active safety features, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a 3.6-liter V6 hybrid engine. The 360 surround sound system was another highlight.

The model I drove included the Customer Preferred Package. The base price of the Pacifica Select was $53,425, but with the select package, Nappa leather seats, Uconnect Theater, and Sound Group, among other features, the delivery price came to $64,225. For more information, visit www.Chrysler.com
