Hyundai Palisade SEL AWD TEST DRIVE

Cart

I enjoyed my time with the Hyundai Palisade. It is a worthy addition to the Hyundai line up and provides fierce competition for full-size SUVs. Interior space and build quality are impeccable.

I had an exciting time driving the Palisade around the DC metropolitan area for a week. The Palisade slots above the Santa Fe and can seat up to 8 adult passengers. This was one of the biggest distinctions I took from the Palisade versus the prior Santa Fe XL. The Palisade is larger, has very premium materials, and a distinctive style in its segment. I also love the build quality of the Palisade.

I have visited the Hyundai motor studio in Goyang in South Korea. I can better appreciate the incredible work I saw which is reflected in the execution of the Palisade.

The Palisade is manufactured and assembled in South Korea. On the Palisade I drove, you get a 3.8 L V6 engine standard that makes 291 HP and 262 lb-ft of torque. That was powerful enough for my trips on I-70 and around the DC Beltway.

The Palisade comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and gets 24 MPG on the highway. I especially loved the new 10.25” telematics display. The base price on the Palisade SEL AWD is $35,200. Besides the new telematics display, options like the Convenience and the Premium package along with the Driver guidance and more bring the delivered price to $43,155.
