Ultimate Compact Machine the BMW X1 X-Drive 28i

Driving the BMW X1 X-Drive 28i was a delightful experience. This compact SUV is nothing short of spectacular. I had the opportunity to drive it around the Washington DC metropolitan area, taking it on I-495 and heading west to I-270. The journey continued through Frederick, along I-70, traversing the hills of Appalachia and Hagerstown, and onto I-81 to the Northeast and a part of West Virginia.

The adventure didn’t stop there. I drove around Martinsburg and all the way west to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, via I-76. This incredible SUV boasts a host of new technologies, superb driving dynamics, and an exceptional fit and finish on the interior.

Under the hood, it houses a two-liter twin-turbo four-cylinder engine that delivers an impressive 241 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The power I felt during my drives was truly exhilarating.

The BMW X1 is also fuel-efficient, with an EPA rating of 20 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway.

The cost of ownership is relatively low, thanks to a free maintenance program that includes oil changes, filter replacements, and scheduled maintenance for the first three years or thirty-six thousand miles of your vehicle, whichever comes first.

This particular model is made in Regensburg, Germany, not in the plants in South Carolina, so it’s imported.

One of the highlights for me was the Harmon Kardon sound system. It allowed me to truly appreciate the music I had created with the music department, which we remixed as ‘Dah-Varsity Origins of Superhero Rap‘. This project aims to introduce a new generation to careers in the automotive industry.

I dream of visiting the BMW headquarters in Munich someday to see how BMWs are made. I’ve written about my travels around the world, visiting different factories and observing how the business operates. We’ve turned that into an interactive learning experience that can educate anyone about the great employment opportunities in the auto industry.

As for the BMW X1, my family and I are huge BMW fans. My brother just got an M5 competition. This model, however, is well-appointed. The base price is $38,600, and it comes with options like the premium package, X line, sports seats, and much more. The total retail price, delivered, is $47,145.
