Sitting in the lap of luxury In the Mercedes-Benz S580 sedan 4Matic was exhilarating and thrilling. I had a chance to spend a week in the S580 4Matic in the same week. A week after my son celebrated his 26th birthday. We spent a lot of time in this S580.

We drove many times across the state of Maryland. From as far east on I-97 to Kent Island. We stopped by Annapolis Maryland. We drove all the way west on I-70, I-270, and I-81. Through the Appalachian Hills where you see the green scenery, it matched the emerald green exterior. We wound up on I-81 and the Northeast and part of West Virginia.

We made some stops in Martinsburg. Heading up to Hagerstown Maryland. Driving back east we stopped by Baltimore Maryland where we spent some time in the inner harbor. In the harbor, we went to four seasons. Looking over the water. I was feeling the calmness. My son really loved riding in the rear seat.

He was feeling like a young executive. He’s actually a young executive and the CTO of our tech company. We are at the Swartz Center of Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University.

We also had a very monumental accolade we received during the time. We are BNY Mellon Social innovation challenge UpPrize semifinalists. We were acknowledged for our Ed-tech company Toyz Electronics. There is so much to love about the S580.

The S class itself is the quintessential luxury sedan and saloon. I’ve had the distinction and the great pleasure of going all the way to Stuttgart Germany. I wanted a first-hand look at the heritage of the Mercedes brand at the museum.

This new model S580 continues the legacy of true luxury cruisers. True executive sedans. This one is loaded with a lot of technology. It has a 12.8-inch OLED touchscreen center display.

In addition to a 12.3-inch widescreen digital instrument cluster. It also has 4-wheel steering and you’re able to actually steer the rear wheels by a 4.5-degree angle. There’s a 3D instrument cluster that also came as an option. Underneath the hood though is where the magic starts. You have a 4.0 liter V8 twin-turbo engine with a mild hybrid. Mercedes is called the EQ charge. You get a total output of 496 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

I really loved the airmatic air suspension. You also have a lot of active technology.  Expect everything from steering assist, lane keep assist. Blind spot assist actually would stop the vehicle if there are things in your blind spot as you reverse. Mercedes-Benz Me provides the ability to customize your telematics experience among other features. There’s Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

There’s also a Panoramic roof wireless charging. But when in a true luxury liner you expect all these to be standard. Mercedes have been popular enough in our family. I’m a huge fan of the racing team, a Patronas and Lewis Hamilton fan. I truly enjoyed my time in this newest version of the S class. I can’t wait to try out the EQS to see the electrified version.

The sound system is impeccable. The Burmeister sound system was great. This was especially true playing my music. The chronicles of electromagnetic field general is the album I made with the music department at Carnegie Mellon. we’re working on part two and I can’t wait to get that released. This is all a part of our Dah-Varsity Afrofuturistic metaverse. I could imagine this S580 in our metaverse.

The base price of the S580 is $117,700. With options like 21-inch AMG wheels, and rear-axle steering. 3D instrument cluster, the AMG sports package, and more came out at a delivered price of $125,890. for more information visit www.MBUSA.com
