I had a great time in the all-new Mazda CX-30 with the premium package. The CX-30 is a compact crossover. It features Mazda’s striking design language. The model I drove had a very premium fit and finish and exceptional materials. That made it enjoyable driving as far west on I-70 and I-270 to the Western parts of Maryland. I also drove on I-81 to the Northeast and parts of West Virginia. In addition, I did driving around the Washington Metropolitan area on I-495 driving up I-95 North. I experienced an exceptional balance of power styling in a nice premium package.
Underneath the hood is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder skyactiv g engine that makes 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
In my drives around the Washington DC metropolitan area, it was more than adequate. There’s also a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Another thing I loved was the steering assist and the safety technology. I especially enjoyed the adaptive cruise control. I also enjoyed the Bose sound system.
I was able to listen to my song Paradise that I wrote with the music department at Carnegie Mellon. It features 12 speakers and the sound was rich, especially the piano melodies. It brought a sense of calm to me. In addition, the model I drove also had an all-wheel drive system.
Which made for excellent handling and driving. There’s an 8.8-inch full-color telematic system where I was able to integrate Apple CarPlay. It also has Android Auto capabilities. The power liftgate came in handy on my several trips to the grocery store.
Driving in and out there was also a lot of cargo space. I was able to carry some materials in the trunk. I rode around with my family who really enjoyed the quality of the seats. Other features include a sunroof and LED lighting. It all came in a fuel-efficient package.
The CX-30 gets an EPA-rated 33 miles per gallon on the highway. Starting price of the Mazda CX-30 is $21,900. The CX-30 is very critical in Mazda’s lineup.
