Cart

The three series sedan is the bread and butter for BMW. The car is so iconic it defines compact Luxury vehicles. It remains the benchmark every manufacturer uses.

Getting into an M model is an even greater experience. The M340i xDrive sedan was a thrilling experience for me in my week around the Washington Metropolitan Area. I got some highway driving on I-95 and I-70. I loved the 19-inch wheels.

There is a slew of technology integrated into this ultimate driving machine. It had a driver’s assist package. There’s a driver’s assist pro package, which gives you traffic jam assist. It is able to start and stop while monitoring cars ahead of you. This feature is helpful in intense congested traffic. Congestion is typical on I-495 and other places around the Washington Metropolitan Area. There’s also the premium package, the executive package, and a whole slew of options available as you would expect from a BMW.

This vehicle has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six that makes 382 hp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. With an 8-speed Sport Steptronic transmission and all-wheel-drive system, you get an EPA rated 30 MPG on the Highway. Another cool feature of this BMW is you get ultimate care for free. This gives you a maintenance program where you pay nothing over the next three years. I also love the driving modes; ECO Pro, COMFORT mode, SPORT, and SPORT+. I preferred the ECO-Pro mode to get the most fuel efficiency. Sports + is also a great trill.

Inside you have Apple CarPlay connectivity. There are a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. The base price on the M340i xDrive sedan is $56,000. With the slew of options, I mentioned and several more the delivered price came out to $69,570. For more information visit www.bmwusa.com
