The Kia Telluride SX V6 all-wheel drive is simply a well-built machine. To be honest, if I was in a market for a full-size SUV the Telluride would probably be near the top of my list. It comes with a 3.8-liter V6 engine that’s mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The engine makes 291 HP and 262 lb-ft of torque. With an all-wheel-drive system, it gets an EPA rated 24 miles per gallon on the highway. What really impressed me was build quality and the availability of so much integrated technology. It is also quite a looker. The posture of the Telluride is quite stunning. From the greenhouse to the silhouette the curves wrap around it nicely. And the setup is just great. Kia did an incredible job with this SUV. With a base price that starts at $43,490 it’s a real top contender.
On the base model, you get everything from a rear sunroof and Captain chairs in the second row. I loved the Harmon/Kardon surround sound system. 20-inch black-finish alloy wheels were also a great touch. I mean, it’s a long list of technology and High-quality materials. You can see the nice wood inlays with nary a gap.
On the great sound system, I was able to play some music we did with the music department at Carnegie Mellon University.
