I remember being in Hong Kong a couple of years ago seeing a Ford Ranger. I wondered aloud when this model will come stateside. I mean, it looks so gorgeous, and I was just delighted to see that the Ford Ranger existed in a different market.

The situation in America has since been rectified. The Ford Ranger is now available and it’s been having brisk sales for the Ford Motor Company. I had a chance to drive the Lariat model for a week around the Washington Metropolitan area, and I was quite pleased. I loved the functionality, build quality and technology. The Ranger comes with an efficient Engine. It’s a 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline 4-cylinder. It makes 270 horsepower and 310-pound feet of torque. On the 4×4 model, you get 24 miles per gallon on the highway and EPA rated 24 miles per gallon on the highway. It also gets the new 10-speed automatic transmission that Ford developed in conjunction with GM.

The Ranger is a sweet looking machine and is a great cruise on the highway. I had an opportunity to go back and forth on interstate I-70. My jaunts took me from the Washington Metropolitan Area to Western Maryland. Sync 3 technology is also integrated, so you get Android Auto capability. There is also a long list of tech features. The price on the Ford Ranger Lariat starts at $32,500. For more information visit www.Ford.com
