Ford Expedition Limited FX4

The Ford Expedition and I have had a long and storied history. I drove a Ford Expedition cross-country on tour with 50 Cent, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z to launched my company, Owners Illustrated Magazine in 2003.

The comfort of the Expedition literally carried me across this country. I’m forever bonded to this great machine. I delighted at the opportunity to test drive the 2020 model of the Expedition. It has seating for 8. Under the hood is a very powerful engine.

The 3.6 L V6 Ecoboost engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. It makes 375 HP and 470 lb-ft of torque. With an all-wheel-drive system, you get an EPA rated 23 miles per gallon on the highway, which is efficient. In my Expedition, I got nowhere close to that as I put over 200,000 miles on it. Towing capacity is over 9,000 pounds.

In some configurations, you could even get more towing capacity. I loved the integrated technology like wireless charging and the Sync 3. There are a lot of active safety technology, like adaptive cruise control, and a lane departure warning.

Ford is adding its FX4 off-road package to the upscale 2020 Ford Expedition Limited for customers who want to travel further off the beaten path.

The limited model I drove was an FX4 edition. It has an off-road package standard. The package includes off-road-tuned shocks. It also has a limited-slip differential and skid plates. This is great for places like West Virginia and Western Maryland.

The model I drove also had the Ford Co-Pilot 360 assist. It’s a long list of features that also included the B&O Sound System and 20-inch wheels. The starting price is 63,345 dollars. For more info visit www.Ford.com.
