The Ranger is back! After a long hiatus from offering a midsize pickup in the US, Ford has returned strong with an all-new Ranger line of products. I spent a week in the Washington Metropolitan Area in an XLT model. It featured, a 2.3 L EcoBoost engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 2.3L EcoBoost engine makes 270 HP and 310 lb-ft of torque. It gets an EPA rated 24 MPG on the highway. I was very delighted to drive the Ranger during my week behind the wheel. The model I drove was a Supercrew 4X4 and it had 7500 lb towing capacity. This is more than adequate to tow a horse or a small boat for a weekend trip. The base price on the Ranger XLT Supercrew 4X4 is $34,115. The model I drove had options like; adaptive cruise control, sports appearance package, trailer tow package, FX4 off-road package, and more.
