I thoroughly enjoyed my time behind the wheel of the Jeep Compass Latitude 4X4, exploring the diverse landscapes of the Washington DC metropolitan area. I drove to the scenic Appalachian Hills in West Virginia. To get there I embarked on a journey from I-495 to I-270, then further west on I-70 through Hagerstown and into the Northeast part of West Virginia on I-81.

The Jeep Compass Latitude proved to be a reliable and versatile companion throughout.

The vehicle’s design is reminiscent of the esteemed Grand Cherokee. It maintains a familiar charm. Noteworthy is the incorporation of the Uconnect system, offering seamless integration with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Inside, the fit and finish are commendable, with a standout feature being the new Jeep steering wheel.

Exploring the picturesque landscapes of West Virginia, including the Potomac River, which is close to me in Falling Waters, the Jeep Compass Latitude felt right at home. This compact SUV blends ruggedness with a touch of sophistication, delivering a winning combination of styling, performance, and functionality, all at an affordable price point.

Under the hood, the 2.0 L I-4 turbo engine impressively churns out 200 horsepower and 222 pound-feet of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the four-cylinder engine ensures an efficient fuel performance, boasting an EPA-rated 32 miles per gallon on the highway. The starting price of $30,170 for the Latitude adds to its appeal.

The audio experience in the Jeep Compass Latitude is delightful, allowing me to appreciate the music I created at Carnegie Mellon University with the Music Department. The 2.0-liter engine confidently handled the undulating hills of I-70, and the interior exuded comfort and style. Safety features abound, providing an added layer of assurance.

Boasting great styling, advanced technology, and an attractive price, the Jeep Compass Latitude stands out in the compact SUV segment. The 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 system is amazing. Watching its evolution since being showcased at CES brings me a sense of joy. With wireless charging, telematics connectivity, impressive safety features, outstanding fuel economy, and genuine trail-rated capabilities, the Jeep Compass Latitude is a compelling choice for anyone in the market for a compact SUV.
