Genesis G70 AWD 3.3 T Sport Test Drive

I had an incredible time in my week spent in the Genesis G70. I actually saw the Genesis G70 when I went to South Korea to the Goyang studio in 2018. I also saw the G 70 at the Itaewon International airport in South Korea, about an hour out from Seoul.

It has been a 2-year wait to drive the G 70. I have to say it was well worth the wait. The model I drove was an all-wheel-drive 3.3 turbo sport model. I actually had a chance to let my mom also hang along for a ride. We used to own a Hyundai Excel decades ago. What my mom repeatedly said was she could not believe that this was a Hyundai Genesis product. I mean, she was really shocked. That just speaks to the incredible move Hyundai has done creating the Genesis division.

Genesis has moved the brand upscale. I loved driving on Maryland I-200. We got a chance to go over the Bay Bridge listening to the Calm Station on Sirius XM.

The Genesis G 70 has a 3.3 L twin-turbo V6 engine that makes 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque engine. It is matted to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The model I drove had the HTrac AWD system. The size is pretty comparable to the BMW 3 Series, which is the benchmark in its class. The fit and finish are impeccable.

The lexicon sound system is great. The leather stitching is nice. I mean, I can’t rave enough about the Genesis G70. I also love the integrated wireless charging. There are different drive modes.

You have a sport mode, a comfort mode, an eco-mode, a smart mode, and you can even customize you’re driving. For more information visit www.genesis.com
