I had an incredible time spending a week in the Audi S5 Sportback prestige. Spending time in the Sportback prestige reminded me of my trip to Audi headquarters in Ingolstadt Germany. On the trip, I saw how the S5 Sportback was manufactured. I remember talking with a family from Minnesota who actually had ordered an Audi S5 and was there to take their European delivery. Since Covid-19 struck I don’t know what’s happening with the factory visit program. I’ve always said to myself when I buy an Audi that is the way I will do it. The model I drove had an impeccable fit and finish. It had excellent telematics and most of all it had a fantastic experience. Audi calls the color Turbo Blue.
It matched my outfits on occasion. It was a delight as I made trips across Western Maryland on I-70. I ventured to the Northeast and part of West Virginia on I-81. I even went to parts of Pennsylvania. This is the way to drive. There is a lot of telematics integration including wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Underneath the hood, you get a 3.0-liter turbo V6 engine that makes 369 Horsepower and 349 pound-feet of torque.
It is mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission with a Quattro all-wheel drive system. It’s also pretty fuel efficient getting an EPA-rated 30 miles per gallon on the gap on the highway.
I truly enjoyed the style, the design, the performance, and the handling. And the experience I had in the Audi S5 Sportback. A comfort feature I loved was the Audi multimedia touch display with a 10.1-inch screen.
You also had a rich Audi sound system. The model I drove came with the prestige package. You get the bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound. You also get; the matrix LED lights, Audi connect plus, adapted cruise control with traffic jam assists, and several other features.
