Technology Meets Style and Luxury in The Audi Q7 55 Quattro Prestige

Cart

I had a great time spending the week in the Audi Q7 55 TFSI Quattro. It is a phenomenal machine. I enjoyed spending time with my family and driving. We drove several places all around the Washington DC metropolitan area.

The driving was as far east over the Bay Bridge to Kent Island on I-97. Along the way passing Maryland Interstate 50. I also Drove as far west on I-70 through the Appalachian Hills. This brought me to places like Western Maryland and towns like Hagerstown. I ventured to I-81 in the Northeast and part of West Virginia where I own a home. I made several trips back and forth including driving on I-495, the Washington beltway. This driving allowed me to experience this luxury full-size SUV.

It features a 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 335 horsepower and 369-pound feet of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission.

There is a permanent Quattro all-wheel drive system. The level of detail and the quality of fit and finish were great. This is why Audi is the benchmark used by other automotive manufacturers.

Especially so for build quality and ergonomics. I especially loved the digital integration on the digital dashboard. This includes digital climate controls, a touchscreen, and also telematic system. You have a very modern cabin that still has nice analog features.

The driving experience, also still emphasizes comfort and prestige. There’s the advanced key, Audi connect, Audi connect plus, and there’s the MMI navigation. You also get Sirius 360L. However, I didn’t get a chance to check that feature during my test drive.

I love the adaptive cruise control feature. It is able to detect intersections and stop signs. It slows you down to stop at an intersection. The model I drove added packages like the samurai gray metallic paint and the prestige package. The prestige package added 20-inch wheels. It also has run-flat tires.

The Bang & Olufsen premium sound system with 3D sound made the music I made with the music department at Carnegie Mellon sound so terrific. I was able to hear the full composition.  You feel like you’re in a studio. It also has a luxury package. This has the Alcantara headliner. These features took the base price of $62,500 to a delivered price of $80,890.

The Q7 is built in Slovakia. Having visited Audi’s headquarters in Ingolstadt Germany I became a huge fan of the heritage. Driving and spending a week in the Q7 prestige brought me so much delight and joy. I was able to enjoy such a premium and finely crafted machine.  For more information visit www.audi.com
