I had an exceptional time in my week spent in the Genesis GV80, all-wheel-drive 3.5T Prestige. During my week I got a chance to spend my son’s 25th birthday with him. We drove around to the Washington DC area and the Inner Harbor of Baltimore. My drive also took me all the way west to Hagerstown and the northeastern part of West Virginia.
I drove highway I-81, I-95, I- 495, I-70, and I-270. Driving to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore we went to eat at a very nice restaurant on the top floor of the four seasons in the Inner Harbor, Bygones.
The Genesis GV80 felt at home with other high-end luxury vehicles in the front of the hotel. Underneath the hood of the Genesis GV80 is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque.
It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It gets an EPA-rated 23 miles per gallon on the highway. I was quite impressed by the premium features. The GV80 comes with standard 20-inch wheels. There is the Hyundai HDA, the highway driver assist package, that’s exceptional. The model I drove had the advanced package.
That adds leather seating and surfaces, surround view, and blind-spot monitoring. It also ads a lexicon 21 speaker audio system.
I was able to listen to my song Paradise. I also listen to the Groove station on Sirius XM. Some of my favorites musicians are Prince and Barry White and also the Isley Brothers.
The sound dynamics are crystal clear with deep 3D sound in the base. I also love the 3D digital cluster with the colorful color heads-up display.
The Prestige has a very tight fit and finish. The headliner is premium. I was just blown away by the quality of Genesis. I wanted my son’s 25th birthday to be special and the Genesis GV 80 did not disappoint.
It also comes with a 14.5 inch HD navigation screen. There’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
