I had an incredible time driving the Mazda MX-5 Miata RF Grand Touring. My journey began in the Washington DC metropolitan area, where I embarked on a road trip to Pittsburgh to attend Tech Week. The drive was exhilarating, with the Miata’s responsive handling and powerful performance making every mile enjoyable.
The MX-5 Miata RF Grand Touring is a true driver’s car. Its 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G engine produces 181 horsepower, providing plenty of power for both city driving and highway cruising. The 6-speed manual transmission adds to the engaging driving experience, allowing for precise gear changes and a connected feel to the road.
As I made my way to Pittsburgh, I couldn’t help but appreciate the Miata’s sleek design and retractable fastback roof. The roof can be opened or closed in just 13 seconds, allowing me to enjoy the open air on sunny days and the comfort of a coupe when the weather turns cooler. The interior is equally impressive, with leather-trimmed seats, a Bose 9-speaker audio system, and a 7-inch touchscreen display with Mazda Connect infotainment.
Tech Week in Pittsburgh was a fantastic experience, and the Miata was the perfect companion for the trip. Its compact size made it easy to navigate the city’s streets and find parking, while its sporty performance turned heads wherever I went.
The drive back to Washington DC was just as enjoyable, with the Miata’s comfortable ride and advanced safety features, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, providing peace of mind on the highway.
Upon returning to Washington DC, I had the pleasure of attending Howard Homecoming with a fellow Howard engineering alum. This year marked the 100th anniversary of Howard Homecoming, making it an extra special event. The Miata once again proved to be the ideal vehicle for the occasion, offering a perfect blend of style, performance, and practicality.
Driving through the city with the top down, we enjoyed the sights and sounds of the homecoming festivities. The Miata’s nimble handling and responsive steering made it easy to navigate the crowded streets, while its compact size allowed us to find parking close to the action. The car’s advanced technology, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, kept us connected and entertained throughout the weekend.
Overall, the Mazda MX-5 Miata RF Grand Touring exceeded my expectations in every way. It provided an unforgettable driving experience, whether cruising on the highway, navigating city streets, or enjoying the open road. For anyone looking for a stylish, fun-to-drive, and practical sports car, the Miata is a must-have. For more information, visit Mazda
