Driving the Lexus RX 450h+: A Spectacular Experience

I had a spectacular time driving the Lexus RX 450h+ Luxury All-Wheel Drive. My journey took me around the San Francisco metropolitan area, coinciding with my visit to the Game Developers Conference. This event allowed me to engage with numerous companies collaborating on our educational game developed at Carnegie Mellon University. I had insightful discussions with partners like Unity Technologies, known for their game and automotive design software, and Epic Games, our collaborators in teaching kids real-time 3D technologies.

Our shared goal is to diversify the talent pool entering the automotive industry, and it was invigorating to catch up with industry leaders in person after so much virtual interaction.

My travels along I-80 led me to Oakland and Sausalito, where I stayed in San Rafael. I also enjoyed the calming sight of the Pacific Ocean while driving around, accompanied by the spa channel on the sound system. Exploring Silicon Valley was exhilarating, witnessing firsthand the innovation emerging from the area.

The Lexus RX 450h+ is packed with innovative features. It integrates wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a plug-in hybrid system delivering a combined output of 304 horsepower. Under the hood is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder plug-in hybrid engine. The vehicle features a 14-inch touchscreen display and achieves an EPA-rated 35 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving, with a 37-mile all-electric range.

This exceptional vehicle offers both fuel efficiency and luxury, making it perfect for comfortably fitting your family. It boasts style, a panoramic roof, and excellent build materials. The base price is $68,730, but the total delivered price came to $75,755. This included enjoying music I made with the Carnegie Mellon music department, which sounded fantastic on the car’s premium audio system.
