I will truly miss the Volkswagen Arteon 2.0T SEL Premium R-Line after spending a memorable week exploring the Washington metropolitan area. From cruising on I-270 and I-495 to driving west on I-70 through the scenic hills of Western Maryland and Hagerstown, and venturing to the Northeastern part of West Virginia in Martinsburg, and finally reaching Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Arteon proved to be an exceptional travel companion.
This technological marvel boasts a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, generating a powerful output of horsepower and pound-feet of torque. Mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, the Arteon provided a seamless and enjoyable driving experience throughout my journeys.
One standout feature is the striking Kingfisher Blue Metallic color that adorned the vehicle, truly making it stand out. The 20-inch alloy wheels complemented the overall aesthetic, adding a touch of sophistication.
The driver assist package and the impressive sound system enhanced the driving experience, allowing me to enjoy the music I created with the music department at Carnegie Mellon, including the remix album “Dah-Varsity: Origins of Superhero Rap.” Our aim with this project is to inspire the next generation of STEAM superheroes. The Arteon played the role of chariot in this remarkable journey.
Beyond its style and technology, the Arteon offers remarkable comfort, making it an excellent daily driver. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed driving it back and forth, appreciating the comfort it provided during our commutes. The IQ Drive advanced driver assistance technologies, coupled with Volkswagen Car-Net, further contributed to the overall safety and convenience.
The fastback styling of the Arteon adds a touch of elegance, complementing its performance capabilities. With a base price of $49,695, excluding the optional Kingfisher Blue Metallic paint priced at $395, the total delivered price came out to be $50,890.
