A love affair with Mopar and the Dodge Durango RT AWD

I must submit that I am a huge Mopar fan. Driving the Dodge Durango RT towing and go all-wheel drive RT really delighted my heart. It empowered my soul and lifted my spirits in a week spent around the Washington Metropolitan area. I also drove to other places In the Northeast part of West Virginia and through Appalachia on I-70 and I-81.

My drives also took me as far east as Kent Island in the eastern part of Maryland on I-97. In between, I was able to feel the 5.7 liter V8 Hemi hum and purr. Using Paddle shifters to rev her up.

What a rich rumble note. That was truly a great sound to hear. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. You feel the power and the superior handling. Inside the cabin are the latest in technology.  The Uconnect 5 telematic system integrates great with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

I enjoyed the Harman Kardon sound system. I was able to listen to the music I made with the music department at Carnegie Mellon. My song Stop the Bullying is a benchmark I use.

It just sounded exceptional. Inside the fit and finish, quality is experienced with the leather seats. There’s a lot of technology from park sense to lane assist.

There are multiple USB hubs and wireless charging. The gray color is special paint. It matched the number of my outfits. With the offset of the black wheels, it just looked menacing. I also drove around the Washington DC metropolitan area. My family had a chance to ride along with me and it was very comfortable. The base price of the Dodge Durango RT all-wheel drive is $49,825.

The model I drove was loaded with several options. First is the clear gray clear exterior paint in the tow-and-go package. Options included the technology group.

There are also Captain chairs. The Harman Kardon sound system with 19 speakers and an 825-watt amplifier brought the delivered price to $67,142. For more information visit www.dodge.com
