The all-new Kia Sportage is simply a wonderfully constructed machine. It is assembled with premium materials and also has features that portray a heritage beyond its segment. In my week driving around the Washington, DC metropolitan area, I was pleasantly surprised by the gorgeous panoramic roof which gave a view of the sky and extended beyond what is found on other competitors in the compact crossover segment. The SX all-wheel drive I drove also had heated and ventilated seats, an 8-inch touchscreen display with navigation system, blind spot detection, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a striking design that gave it a luxury feel. The model I drove did not have any additional options so after a week of driving I felt that this is a compelling alternative to many luxury brands. With the SX all-wheel drive you get a 2.0 L turbo engine that makes 237 HP and 260 lb-ft of torque. It has great comfort features, excellent telematics including Kia’s UVO and Android Auto integration, a proximity detecting lift gate and more at a price of $34,895 delivered.
