I had a spectacular time driving the Acura TLX Type S. The model I drove featured all-wheel drive, providing an exceptional driving experience. Under the hood, it houses a 3.0-liter direct injection V6 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, boasting an impressive 355 horsepower and Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD).

I drove this vehicle all around the Washington DC metropolitan area, including a journey west on I-270 to I-70, all the way to the northeastern part of West Virginia. I also took it to the New York Auto Show, where I witnessed exciting new vehicles from Acura and Honda. The drive along the turnpike was truly delightful.

The exhilaration of using the paddle shifters and the comfort of the seats added to the driving pleasure. I also enjoyed listening to the music I created with the music department at Carnegie Mellon, thanks to the Type S ELS Studio 3D Premium Audio System. The 17 speakers delivered a deep, immersive sound experience, making me feel like I was in a studio.

The handling of the TLX Type S captivated me. Riding on 20-inch wheels the car felt rugged yet refined. It offers multiple driving modes: Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus, where the paddle shifters enhance the sporty feel. The TLX integrates a lot of driver-assist technology, including lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control, enhancing safety and convenience.

The vehicle also features integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring seamless connectivity. The fit and finish of the TLX Type S were exceptional, showcasing Acura’s commitment to quality.

The base price of the Acura TLX Type S with SH-AWD was $57,000. The only option on the model I drove was the striking Urban Gray color, bringing the total delivered price to $58,795. For more information, visit www.Acura.com
