Pampered and protected in the Mercedes GLS 450 4MATIC

I had an incredible time in the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC. The GLS line has a strong history in my family. My sister-in-law owns a GLS 550. A cousin of mine also owns the GLS 550. They were quite intrigued about my week spent in the all-new GLS 450. For the 2021 model year, the GLS 450 adds a lot of appointments on a new platform.

There are new technologies and new displays.  There’s also a new steering wheel, new comforts, and new styling. Underneath the hood is a 3.0-liter inline-six turbo engine. It makes 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.

It’s mated to a 9-speed g-Tronic automatic transmission. It features the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel-drive system. The model I drove also has the AIRMATIC air suspension as standard. I spent my drives north on I-95 to Baltimore all the way east on I-97 past Annapolis to Kent Island in Maryland. I also drove west on I-70 to Hagerstown Maryland and I-81 in the northeastern part of West Virginia.

The ride was exceptionally smooth and the power was more than adequate. The handling was superb as was the Mercedes-Benz driver-assist package.

The driver assist package helps with steering.  It also includes the Distronic adaptive cruise control system. Traffic stop and go assist is integrated. It also has an active lane change assist. While driving on I-495 it came in handy. The GLS 450 4MATIC model I drove had integrated wireless charging with NFC. It allows you to connect your phone using NFC. The panoramic roof was gorgeous. I loved the comfort settings.

I was able to alternate between an activating massage and a classic massage. It even has a hot relaxing back and a hot relaxing shoulder.

It made for a very comfortable drive. There’s also ambient lighting. The purple hue was very calming. I was able to check out the Burmester sound system.

I played the music I made with the Carnegie Mellon music department. I played both my songs Paradise and Stop The Bullying. Driving was a very calming experience for me. I was having massages and listening to these great songs. I also went by the water doing my meditations. The GLS 450 4MATIC was the perfect companion. I was able to also drive my family. My son and my mom also had a chance to ride with me.

They found the drives exceptional and comfortable in both rows of seats. The base price on the GL450 4MATIC is $76,000. Options like the driver’s assist package, the warmth and comfort package and the acoustic package, panoramic roof, and more made the delivered price $87,150. For more information visit www.Mbusa.com
