I recently spent a week behind the wheel of the Ford F\u2011150 Lightning Lariat 4\u00d74 SuperCrew, and this all\u2011electric truck exceeded every expectation. My route took me from the Washington, D.C. metro area onto I\u2011495 and I\u2011270, then west through the Appalachian foothills on I\u201170 and I\u201181, all the way to Pittsburgh, PA\u2014a perfect real\u2011world test of range, charging, and day\u2011to\u2011day utility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford rates the Lightning\u2019s dual\u2011motor, extended\u2011range 131\u202fkWh battery at 320 miles, and I consistently achieved 280\u2013282 miles per charge against varied terrain and speeds. Fast\u2011charging via EVgo, Electrify America, and ChargePoint networks was seamless, proving the Lightning\u2019s practicality for both urban and cross\u2011state driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the hood, the Lightning Lariat delivers a massive 580 horsepower and 775\u202flb\u2011ft of torque through a single\u2011speed transmission. The Lariat Equipment Group 511A package on my test truck added premium features, including 20\u2033 Dark Carbonized Gray alloy wheels with 275\/60R20 all\u2011season tires, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat paint, and Black Leather bucket seats. The B&O 8\u2011speaker premium audio system and a massive 15.5\u2033 SYNC\u202f4A touchscreen handled entertainment and vehicle controls with clarity and responsiveness.
