I had a fantastic week driving the Hyundai Kona Electric, an all-electric version of Hyundai\u2019s popular Kona compact SUV. My drives around the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area showcased this vehicle\u2019s impressive range and performance. I traveled along I-495 and I-270, heading westward through the scenic Appalachian hills on I-70 and venturing into northeastern West Virginia on I-81. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kona Electric is a remarkable vehicle. It has an EPA-rated range of 261 miles per charge, but I was able to achieve up to 270 miles, and sometimes even 290 miles, by driving efficiently and charging at optimal intervals. On longer routes, such as I-70 and I-76, I was able to complete my trips with just one full charge, demonstrating the Kona’s excellent long-distance capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kona Electric impressed me with its quick acceleration, responsive handling, and smooth ride. Hyundai has done a fantastic job with its electrified lineup, making the Kona EV a practical and appealing option for daily commuting and extended road trips. The Kona\u2019s fast-charging capability allows for quick top-ups, adding convenience to its already impressive range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the Kona Electric offers a well-designed cabin with modern tech features. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Hyundai\u2019s advanced driver-assistance systems create a seamless driving experience. I was thoroughly impressed with Hyundai\u2019s commitment to the electric vehicle market\u2014despite many manufacturers finding EV adoption challenging, Hyundai has managed to deliver a vehicle that balances efficiency, style, and functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
