My week spent in the Genesis G80 All-wheel drive 3.5t sports prestige brought a lot of strong and fond memories. I remember like it was yesterday being at the Genesis launch in 2009. I fondly remember driving on the track and feeling the performance while listening to the lexicon sound system. Now the G80 all-wheel drive 3.5t sports prestige comes together in an incredibly great package. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got to drive several times around Washington metropolitan area. I drove through Northern Virginia on I-66 to I-495. In addition, I spent time driving on 15 North and driving on Route 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also got a chance to drive west on I-270 to I-70 in Western Maryland to I-81 in the Northeastern part of West Virginia. The finish inside the G80 is nothing short of remarkable. I’ve had the pleasure of going to visit factories and visit Hyundai’s Design Studio in Goyang outside Seoul. The Genesis G80 is actually manufactured. In Auckland. South Korea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was truly impressed by the way everything has come together. Let’s start with what’s underneath the hood. You get a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 375 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. You get an EPA-rated 26 miles per gallon on the highway. I was able to average a combined 26.2 miles per gallon in my combined driving. I also enjoyed the highway driver assist feature which helps you shift lanes and keeps you in your lane. I finally got a chance to experience the system which helps you switch lanes. You center into the next lane and require driver input. It’s an exceptional level 2 autonomous system. There’s also smart cruise control with start and go. It was helpful driving in places like Route 7. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 12-way power seats. In the prestige package, you get Nappa leather seats. There’s a suede headliner. What I really loved was the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. You also get an exceptional lexicon premium audio system with 21 speakers. I was able to listen to Stop The Bullying<\/a> the song I made with the music department at Carnegie Mellon.\u00a0 I really heard all the rich textures and all the rich sounds of each individual instrument. It pained me to have to let go of the Genesis G80. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The styling is impeccable. The fit and finish are exceptional. It’s pretty competitive in its price in its segment. The base price is 63,700.
