Shortly after Labor Day weekend, I got the pleasure of driving in the Mini Cooper John Cooper Works Convertible. It\u2019s a spectacular piece of British Engineering. Final Assembly however occurred in Born Netherlands. Extra components came from Japan and Germany. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So the John Cooper Works Convertible gets the best of the world in a British package of power, handling, and style. Under the hood is a 2.0 L turbo 4-cylinder engine that makes 228 Horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. While the Cooper Works convertible is stylish I also found it somewhat practical. The trunk space was fascinating. I like to get fresh vegetables and it was easy to store things. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was able to spend a week driving westward in Maryland on I-70 and I-81. I also drove to the Northeast part of West Virginia on I-81. My drives also took me eastward in Maryland on I-97. I love the sound system. I streamed Paradise<\/a> the song that I made with the music department at Carnegie Mellon University. The Cooper Works convertible is also fuel-efficient. It gets an EPA-rated 33 MPG on the Highway. Ride and handling are great with 18\u201d wheels standard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The base price on the Cooper Works Convertible is $38,900. The model I drove had the Iconic trim. It costs $6000. It adds many features. This includes touch screen navigation, wireless charging, the HARMAN Kardon premium sound system. Adding a storage package and so much more delivered the price came out to $46,350.
