The Mazda CX-9 Signature AWD was a true delight for me to drive in my week around in the Washington DC metropolitan area. I also drove to West Virginia and  Northern Maryland. I appreciated the fit and finish and the quality of the CX-9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mazda has been able to make inroads into the luxury SUV market and has sold tens of thousands of the CX-9\u2019s annually. I’d had a chance to go to the Hiroshima plant in Japan<\/a> where the CX-9 was is assembled and manufactured. While there I could attest to the attention to detail and quality I saw on the assembly line. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Underneath the hood of the CX-9 is a 2.5L Turbo 4 that makes 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. It has an active all-wheel-drive system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the interior, you have a nice quality build. It includes things like Nappa leather trim seats and Santos Rosewood inlays. It also has heated and cooled seats for the front driver and passenger and heated seats in the middle row. You have an exceptional BOSE sound system. The BOSE sound system has 12 speakers. I tested with the music I made at the Carnegie Mellon music department, playing my song Stop The Bullying<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 10.25-inch color center display comes with Mazda\u2019s Connect telematics system. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are integrated along with wireless charging capabilities. The CX-9 is fuel-efficient getting an EPA-rated 26 miles per gallon on the highway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a chance to drive with my son and we took a trip north of Maryland stopping by Port Deposit. It was great spending time with my son. We\u2019ve had a chance to pray by the water and get our spirit and souls aligned with nature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Port Deposit, the Mazda CX-9 felt at home, it has exceptional towing capabilities. I could imagine towing a boat with it. Towing capacity on the CX-9 is 3500 pounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You also get 20-inch alloy wheels and rain-sensing wipers. There is a slew of safety technology including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, brake assist, and park keep assist. The base price on the CX-9 signature is $46,605. The only option was the machine-gray paint job which brought it to a delivered price of $48,200.
