The Toyota 86 has had a storied life. In America, we fell in love with it as a Scion. With the Scion brand now discontinued, the 86 continues under the Toyota brand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have actually visited the Toyota Web display outside Tokyo, Japan to see the 86. I recently had a chance to drive the awesome Hakone edition. The lightweight sports car is a relatively affordable dream. It features a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 205 horsepower and 156 lb-ft of torque. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. I loved driving it on, I-270, I-70, and I-495 in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. In the 86 you also get a 7-inch touchscreen telematics system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system integrates with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You also get eight pretty decent speakers. Where it stands out visually is the beautiful special Hakone green paint job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 17-inch bronze alloy wheels stand out also. The Hakone 86 edition happens to be very fuel-efficient. It gets an EPA rated 28 miles per gallon on the highway. On the Hakone Toyota 86 you get a combination of style performance, excellent driving dynamics all in a lightweight frame. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior also looked beautiful and felt rich. It comes in at an affordable base price of $29,870. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
