The 2025 Volkswagen Taos may just be one of the most versatile and stylish compact SUVs I’ve driven recently. I didn’t expect it to grow on me, but after a cross-country journey that spanned Washington, D.C., Cleveland, and New York City, the Taos proved itself not just as reliable transportation, but as a trusted partner on a transformative business trip.
This all-new 2025 design accompanied me to our Demo Day with JumpStart Inc., a venture capital initiative backed by the state of Ohio. There, we showcased our AI- and game-powered workforce platform under the Trailblazer Software Accelerator. While our team is in the midst of raising and competing for $1.5 million to scale our future-of-work startup, DahVarsity AI. The Taos was both a functional and stylish companion for every meeting, pitch, and event across the Midwest and Northeast.
The road trip wasn’t just about business; it was filled with nostalgia, too. In New York, I reconnected with Jerohn Anderson, a longtime colleague from my old neighborhood in NE DC, at 49th and J Street.
Our deep community ties—especially around youth education, automotive innovation, and entrepreneurship—made it even more meaningful that he was able to provide the Taos for this milestone trip.
Volkswagen delivered big on this model. The 2025 Taos boasts a clean, modern design with immaculate styling. It’s surprisingly roomy for a compact SUV, with excellent fit and finish. The ride comfort stood out across long highway stretches, and the vehicle’s safety features and integrated tech made the journey not just comfortable, but confident.
