Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4×4: Luxury, Power, and Off-Road Capability

Cart

I had an incredible experience driving the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4×4 over the holidays. As a longtime fan of Jeep, I have a personal connection to the brand—my grandfather owned one back in the 1950s or 1960s, and my brother has owned multiple Grand Cherokees. Having the opportunity to experience the Summit Reserve 4×4 firsthand was truly special.

The Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve is a premium luxury SUV with a rugged off-road pedigree. Under the hood, it features a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, producing 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This combination delivers a smooth yet powerful drive, making it just as comfortable on the highway as it is on the trails.

Inside, the Palermo leather seats, real wood inlays, and impeccable fit and finish create an ultra-premium atmosphere. The McIntosh premium sound system provided an immersive listening experience—I enjoyed playing the music I composed with the Carnegie Mellon music department, as well as my album “Dah-Varsity” the theme song of my video game, Dah-Varsity.

One standout feature is the dual-screen infotainment system, which allows the passenger to watch movies without distracting the driver. The fully digital cockpit adds to the high-tech feel, while the panoramic sunroof opens up the spacious cabin.

My drives took me across Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Virginia, covering major highways like I-66, I-495, and I-95. I even made stops at landmarks like the Kennedy Center, the Air Force Memorial, and the Marine Corps Memorial. Whether navigating city streets or stretching its legs on the highway, the Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4×4 felt right at home.

I also had the pleasure of riding with my veteran friend, who served in the Air Force, and she absolutely loved the SUV’s premium comfort and design. My mother and son also joined me for a drive, and the spacious interior made for an enjoyable family trip.

I’m seriously considering purchasing this Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4×4—or even the Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe, the plug-in hybrid version. The combination of technology, luxury, and off-road capability makes it one of the most compelling SUVs in its class.
