I had a tremendous time driving the Volkswagen Tiguan SEL R-Line 4MOTION. I was honored to have the Tiguan during my time at the NASA Space Apps Challenge in Ames, Mountain View, California. The Tiguan was a trusty companion for me and our CMO.
We enjoyed the fit and finish and the integrated technology, which was appropriate as we were around young minds from universities like Cal Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon, and Stanford, who were coming up with innovations and ideas for the future.
Now let’s talk about the Tiguan. It’s stylish and has a lot of active safety features. Beyond that, it’s very comfortable to drive. During my drives, I was able to explore Northern California, driving around Mountain View and Stanford’s campus. I also visited Google headquarters and Meta’s headquarters at One Hacker Way.
I even had a chance to drive to San Francisco and visit the Chase Center, where the Golden State Warriors won a championship a couple of years ago against my beloved Celtics. This trip was so beautiful. I also had a chance to go to Oakland, and while I drove, I was able to listen to music I created with the music department at Carnegie Mellon University.
We also had a chance to go by San Jose, and the Tiguan was such a comfortable vehicle to drive that it fit in well in a lot of these posh neighborhoods. The Tiguan I drove had a base price of $38,505, and delivery brought it to $40,250.
Underneath the hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. It gets an EPA-rated 29 miles per gallon on the highway. The Tiguan is actually made in North America, manufactured out of the factory in Puebla, Mexico. I will say, anybody looking for a mid-sized SUV should have a look at the Tiguan.
It’s well-appointed, full of technology, and it fits right in at a NASA base. For more information, visit Volkswagen.
