I must admit, it is not often that the hype of a product is as advertised, but the Plantronics BackBeat PRO headphones exceed expectations. I had a chance to use them on my trip back from CTIA Mobility Week and to sum them up in a simple word, they are a godsend. The Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC-enabled over-ear headphones are superior and more comfortable than others I have reviewed. I was able to change songs by simply turning a knob on the headset and also adjust the volume in a similar way. I could also answer calls and activate the Active Noise Canceling function. I was able to pair both an iPhone 5S and a Samsung Galaxy S4 simultaneously and alternate between the two easily. The sound quality is superb with a great balance of mid range and lows. I listened to Demi Lovato, Marvin Gaye, Mos Def, 2 Chainz and more while I had a few hours between flights heading back to the east coast. Users have a range of 100 meters to stream music wirelessly and I was able to charge my devices and listen to music without having to “hog the wall”. During my flight, the BackBeat Pro headphones were wonderful as I listened to sounds through the Relaxia app on my iPhone and managed a couple hours of sleep in my cramped seat. These are a truly great pair of cans and at a price of $249.99 they’re a must-buy. For more info, visit www.plantronics.com.
