FORZA MOTORSPORT 6 Review

When I was a pre-teen, I had a picture of a Lamborghini Countach on my wall and had aspirations of driving one, one day, and if I was so fortunate, owning one. My dream has not come true, though one can still dream and that spirit inspired me to become the journalist I have become today and in the process, drive many of the cars of my dreams. The opening sequence of Forza Motorsport 6 captures that very essence. Today you don’t need a poster on your wall to inspire driving. You can drive via video game and the intro with the kid dreaming about racing the Ford GT against Ferrari, Lamborghini, Viper, Aston Martin, and more was simply a brilliant placement for the Ford GT and a testament to how far we have come in driving simulation, where a game design team can influence the creation of an actual vehicle. I drive and review vehicles weekly and I have also played most of the driving simulation games on the market and I have to say I am quite impressed with Forza 6. It was fun to drive some of the vehicles I drove in this issue including the VW Golf R, which was so cool with the Hulk treatment and the AMG GT S. Road conditions and actual precipitation were enhanced in this edition of Forza, adding even more realism to the already exceptional simulator. Hands down, Forza Motorsport 6 is the best simulator on the market and the historic nature of this game makes it the “poster on the wall” for future generations of drivers.
